The nominations for the 69th Annual Emmy Awards were just recently announced. According to Variety magazine, the list of more than 400 television shows to choose from created a significant problem and “voting members of the TV Academy had no choice but to leave quite a few strong contenders off the 2017 Emmy ballots.”
For cord cutters, the good news about this list is that many of the 2017 Emmy nominations are available for free viewing with an HDTV antenna. Here’s a quick look at what the Emmy Award nomination voters believe are some of the best TV shows you can get with your antenna.
ABC’s comedy “Black-ish” is coming up big in 2017 with a nomination for Best Comedy Series along with Comedy Actor and Comedy Actress. ABC’s “Modern Family” was also nominated for Best Comedy Series. “Shark Tank” picked up a nomination and NBC received nominations for “This Is Us,” “American Ninja Warrior,” and “The Voice.”
CBS picked up a pair of nominations for “The Late Show” and “The Late Late Show.” PBS also came up with several nominations for “Sherlock: The Lying Detective,” “Antiques Roadshow,” and “American Masters” for Documentary.
